COMMANDER'S LOG: Wednesday, July 4th, 2057

The Fourth of July. Once a meaningful holiday in the USA, now a reminder of what we used to have. In any case, I haven't written in a while so need to get my head clear. That package turned out to be a strange comm system called the Joint Strategic Operations Network (JSON for short). It's a quantum encrypted system that can't be deciphered by the collective. It's inventor is Doctor Olivia Mendelson - who just happens to be the head of the resistance and used to be colleagues with the head of the Collective. She wants me to establish a beachhead on the east coast in preparation for a jump across the Atlantic to Europe. Once there I can begin the liberation of Europe. All I have to do is face down two Collective generals: Abernathy the Serpent and Olmacher the Salamander. I've heard they make Carter look like a saint. What could go wrong?
Briefing[]
In order to get to Europe, we first need to establish a beachhead on the east coast. We can't use the Collective's production network until we tap into the network in this area.
