The 
Galactic Marine Corps, or simply Marines, are a futuristic space faction featured in 8-Bit Invaders!. The Marines' playstyle is geared towards quality over quantity, fielding durable and powerful yet expensive units on the battlefield.
The Marines are based on the Terrans from the StarCraft universe, and their conflict with the Cranioids is a nod towards the United Citizen Federation's war against the Arachnids in Starship Troopers.
